Matthew Dawson
Founder & Director

Matthew Dawson is a Horticulturalist with an ethereal vision, his work is instinctive, poetic and honest. Matthew founded County Garden Management in 2007 to bring the practices of design, horticulture, landscaping and consultancy together within one management sphere.

Matthew leads on the design, direction, and development of County Garden Management; working closely and collaboratively with over 30 highly-skilled horticulturists and landscapers. Matthew approaches each project with detailed structure, artistic thought, and an ability to finely understand the needs of both the client and project; resulting in a garden to be enjoyed and loved through the unfolding seasons and textures of time.

Benjamin Flack
Head of Business

Accomplished and professional, Benjamin joined County Garden Management in 2015. With a background in Architecture and Business Management, Benjamin brings a field of experience, knowledge, perceptive vision and creative aptitude to the team and projects.

Instrumental to the company’s development, growth and operations, Benjamin coordinates the management of client accounts, health and safety, communications and recruitment. Benjamin played a paramount role in guiding the company to enter and win the award: ‘Best in Category 2020 - Domestic & Maintenance’ at the Annual Association of Professional Landscapers Awards in London. A significant recognition for the company which Benjamin is considerably proud of.

Robert Blackett
Head of Horticulture

Since joining County Garden Management in 2016, Robert has been responsible for the organisation, management and planning on some of the company’s most important projects. As Head of Horticulture Robert oversees all aspects of the project from development through to delivery. Robert has been an integral part to the company’s successful growth over recent years.

With a background in Computing, Ecology and Conservation, and as a certified Arborist - Robert brings a wealth of experience, plant knowledge and expertise to the team and project. Welcoming a challenge, Robert approaches each project with focused intelligence and analytical efficiency. Robert culminates a transformed, atmospheric and functional space with a sensibility to nature at the fore.

Lee Skinner
Landscape Manager

Lee joined County Garden Management in 2021, bringing extensive experience from his years of self-employment in landscaping. As Landscape Manager, he oversees a diverse range of projects, from enhancing existing spaces to complete garden redevelopments, always ensuring quality materials and skilled craftsmanship are at the forefront. Lee’s practical expertise, strong leadership, and meticulous approach ensure exceptional standards are consistently achieved.

Lee is committed to building strong client relationships, working closely with garden owners to understand their vision and deliver results that exceed expectations. Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of landscapers, he actively shares his knowledge and passion, inspiring his team to create beautiful, functional outdoor spaces with creativity and care.

Rebecca Barnett
Horticultural Manager & Designer

Becky joined County Garden Management in 2018, bringing excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail from her background in catering and retail. As a designer, she specialises in planting schemes and soft landscaping, crafting beautiful, functional outdoor spaces tailored to each client’s needs.

Becky works closely with garden owners to ensure their spaces thrive throughout the year. Her sharp eye and deep knowledge of garden management help maintain the highest standards. Friendly, creative, and client-focused, Becky is committed to delivering quality and outstanding results on every project.

Christopher Gamblin
Horticultural Manager

Chris has been immersed in the outdoors all his life, developing a passion for gardening from an early age. Before moving into garden maintenance, he spent 19 years as a chef, rising from trainee to head chef in some of Essex’s top restaurants. He also worked in renowned London kitchens, including Michelin-starred establishments, refining his attention to detail and work ethic.

Chris brings these qualities into his gardening, creating a supportive team environment and promoting high standards. He takes pride in doing every task with care, precision, and a deep respect for nature.
